Live broadcasts help to introduce latest products to potential buyers

The 129th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is providing a broader stage for China’s export-oriented companies to showcase their innovations in products, technologies and services to the outside world.

Changzhou Transmei International, which specializes in the production of internet of things products, has made progress in meeting the diverse needs of its customers at home and abroad.

At the Canton Fair this year, Transmei showcased more than 100 of its electronic products at the cloud exhibition hall. A smart security system with fisheye cameras and smart light bulbs are among the home smart solutions on offer from the company this year.

Other products include a number of smart temperature and humidity sensors and human infrared motion sensors, that can be connected to various electronic products and for intelligent feedback.

The Canton Fair offers Transmei the opportunity to win more potential customers and open up new markets.

The company has attracted buyers from all around the world such as Africa and Latin America. In the first quarter of this year, Transmei’s orders increased by 50 percent on the same period in 2020.

Many foreign trade companies in China are focusing more on innovation to boost development and explore new business opportunities brought by the Canton Fair.

In the live broadcast room at the Canton Fair, Shanghai Solid Stainless Steel Products is showcasing its latest patented products to customers across the world.

Since its first exhibition in 1993, the company has participated in the Canton Fair for 29 straight years. In recent years, it has focused on research and development as well as innovative design. Its products have won many awards such as the German Red Dot Award, the iF Design Award and the International Design Excellence Awards and China Excellent Industrial Design Award.

Local Guangdong enterprises have also performed well in terms of attracting customers and gaining orders at the Canton Fair.

One example is Dongguan-based Summit Bag, which has brought a variety of dazzling products to the Canton Fair. The company has received positive feedback from many buyers and is aiming to make $3 million in turnover at the Canton Fair.

Jiang Zhencai, exhibition leader of Dongguan-based Cortina Group, said the company has brought new products under its Safety Jogger brand to the Canton Fair, featuring shoes made from recycled plastic bottles.

“The shoes have passed the GRS environmental protection certification and can be degraded and reused. It is a practical action for the company to help in carbon neutrality,” Jiang said.

A total of 845 companies from Hebei province are taking part in the Canton Fair this year, with nearly 100,000 exhibits.

Tangshan Yingdong International Trade is a foreign trade enterprise that produces and sells aluminum profiles.

At the Canton Fair this year, Yingdong showed two major innovations during its live broadcasts. The vertical screen broadcasts were divided into three parts: the upper, middle and lower parts. The upper area featured the introduction of basic product information. In the middle area, the host explained with samples in hand. The lower area played promotional videos.

“In the past, we did not set up a screen for real-time playback of live broadcasts, and the host could not intuitively understand the broadcast situation, which was not conducive to observing the picture effect of the product display. At the Canton Fair, we added equipment, and the host can pass feedback to adjust the status in time, to better interact with buyers with a more perfect image and explanation,” the company said.

Such actions resulted in a significant improvement in the live broadcasts. Over three days, more than 200 domestic and foreign buyers watched Yingdong’s live broadcasts, and the company has received some $300,000 in potential orders from South America, Africa and other countries and regions.
