Buyers to snap up protection materials

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, virus prevention materials have been a major focus for buyers around the world during the ongoing China Import and Export Fair, the organizer said.

Two types of masks utilizing new materials, developed by Guangdong Medicine & Health Products have caught the eyes of many buyers.

These products are made from antibacterial materials, meeting people's need for comfort while wearing a mask in the summer, said a manager at the company.

Due to the current increasing need for prevention materials such as masks, the company has put its efforts into research and development to create innovative new products, the manager said.

"The number of viewers at the online fair has been increasing day by day, and that gives us confidence in selling our products," he added.

Similar to the Guangdong-based company, many enterprises participating in the fair have focused on developing innovative products independently in a bid to attract overseas buyers, business insiders said.

Another company, Guangdong Foreign Trade, has displayed a range of its products including ultra-violet germicidal lamps, masks, electronic thermometers and protective suits.

"Due to the pandemic, UV germicidal lamps have attracted much attention and there have been many clients asking for samples," said a manager at the company.

Zhongshan Aolike Medical Equipment Technology, a manufacturer of hospital beds, related hospital furniture and rehabilitation equipment, has promoted its key products to a variety of potential buyers.

"There is an increasing demand for hospital beds in the overseas market," a manager surnamed Xu from the company said. The company has seen increasing orders of such products from Southeast Asia and South America, Xu said, adding that the company's exports are expected to grow by 20 to 30 percent this year.

"We have received eight inquiries during the fair, and there are many domestic buyers contacting us via the CIEF platform," Xu said.
