The ongoing 128th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is making efforts to help companies from poor areas in China develop in international markets, and has received praise from a raft of exhibitors.

The fair’s measures to help these companies include lowering the threshold for them to take part in the online exhibitions: no restrictions on their categories of exhibits or annual minimum export limit; and charging the companies no exhibition fee.

The 128th Canton Fair is also producing exhibition guidelines and conducting exhibition training, aiming to help companies, especially ones from poor areas, get used to the online exhibition platform.

By optimizing the online searching function of its exhibition platform, the Canton Fair aims to guide buyers to the products of these companies, to help them secure more orders, according to the organizer.

“In recent days, our company has gained a lot from the Canton Fair. We have got acquainted with more than 20 buyers from the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. After the exhibition, we will continue to track our target customers, and hope to be able to achieve more orders,” said Chen Jianwei, general manager with a leisure and household articles supplier from Jinzhai county in Anhui province.

This is the third time the company has participated in the Canton Fair, according to Chen. “Through the fair, we can not only find business opportunities, but also learn about the international market and customers’ needs, which is of great significance for us to better adapt to the international market and accelerate the pace of product innovation.” On the online exhibition platform of the 128th Canton Fair, the booths of companies from poor areas can be easily and quickly found, just like other booths, giving companies a fair chance to compete, which impressed Chen. “Thanks to the fair’s support for companies from poor areas, small and micro-sized enterprises can have the opportunities to show their products and reach target customers in a short time,” Chen said.
