More than products, many foreign trade enterprises at the 127th Canton Fair have upgraded their business by exporting services and solutions.

Lovol Heavy Industry is a renowned machinery manufacturer, which has an extensive network in around 120 countries and regions.

Through livestreaming, online exhibition and negotiations, the company's commodities have earned recognition from buyers across the world.

A buyer from Zambia, Southern-Central Africa, decided to purchase Lovol-produced loaders in bulk. In addition to the superior quality of the machine, the man thought highly of the company's services and its all-in-one solutions.

As China's agricultural machinery industry ranks among the best in the world, the sector will move forward with globalization strategies based on its expertise, said Zhu Qiang, deputy director of the overseas business department at Lovol Heavy Industry.

"Apart from intelligent machines and equipment, we work to offer foreign customers China's solutions to agricultural modernization," Zhu said.

Another business is Haier Smart Home, China's home appliance giant. It delivered a strong export performance amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the first half of 2020.

Statistics showed that China's exports of home appliances declined by 6 percent in the first quarter of 2020.

While facing a sluggish global market, the industry leader saw a year-on-year growth of 31 percent in exports during the same period and its average export price rose 12 percent.

The company revealed the key to this success at the Canton Fair. By focusing on customers' four major demands for clothing, food, housing and entertainment, Haier utilized virtual reality technology to build six exhibition halls. These offered visitors an immersive experience by simulating real-life scenarios.

What consumers need in the internet era is not just home appliances, but solutions to various scenarios in life, said Zhang Qingfu, vice-president of the Haier Overseas Electrical Industry.

"Thanks to the online fair, we have an excellent platform to display some scenarios that are unavailable offline," he added.

Besides solutions and scenarios, Oriental Yunhong, a Beijing-based waterproofing system provider, highlighted its services at the fair.

"Civil engineering products are different from fast-moving consumer goods. Customers cannot gain a deep understanding of their functions through a simple introduction," said Wang Ning, the manager of the overseas business department at the enterprise.

"Hence, we put more attention on promoting our services such as design, construction and maintenance," he added.
