Canton Fair the perfect platform for buyers across the world to access to drugs and protective clothing

This 127th Canton Fair, which is being held online between June 15-24, provides an excellent platform for medical supply companies to export their products, especially at a time when COVID-19 is spreading across the world.

Kingphar Medical Material based in Qianjiang, Hubei province, produces medical face masks, protective clothing and gloves. Recently, sales of their disposable medical face masks multiplied dozens of times. They were mainly exported to Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and other European countries.

Liang Guiping, deputy general manager of the foreign trade department in the company, said: "We got a few buyer enquiries via live broadcast at the Canton Fair. I believe more buyers will come as they get familiar with the new model of the online Canton Fair."

Liang said to solve the challenges of exports amid a pandemic, companies have expanded their own online channels or have cooperated with some big online platforms to attract new customers.

Traditional Chinese medicine has played an important role in fighting COVID-19 in China, which has made people in other countries start to take notice of TCM.

According to China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicine and Health Products, visits to Chinese medicine clinics in the United States, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and other countries increased. Also, sales of herbal medicine tablets and formula granules have increased by two to three times in recent days.

Beijing Tongrentang Group, a time-honored TCM company, received many orders for herbal medicine tablets from the Netherlands during the outbreak there. The group has cooperated with Chinese medicine wholesalers and logistics companies to launch wholesale businesses overseas, providing new options for Europeans to fight the pandemic.

Some companies have also launched cross-border businesses to contribute to the global battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Xiamen Worthfind Industrial, a bag and suitcase manufacturer, launched household disinfection products at this session of the Canton Fair. The company provide products that can sterilize small personal items, such as mobile phones and disinfection kits for the maternal-infant market.

Li Jiasong, CEO of the company, said that the pandemic has made people pay more attention to the disinfection of daily items. Based on this demand, they launched a series of household disinfection products, which has helped launch their diversified product development.
