Wang Xiaojun, president of skincare supplier Bebevisa, is more than familiar with the Canton Fair.

“The fair allowed me to take the first step toward foreign trade,” Wang said. “It opened the door to the world for me.”

Since 1987, Wang has been exhibiting at the fair. Back at Wang’s maiden trip to the Canton Fair, he was then the only representative of the Hubei branch of the China National Building Materials & Equipment Import and Export Corp.

The 61st session of the fair, held that year, gathered nearly 30,000 buyers from more than 100 countries and regions. Wang was amazed with all of the orders placed at the fair, and noticed European and American buyers were picky about product quality and the gap between the East and West in terms of manufacturing technology.

To make the product quality meet the requirements of the international market, Wang traveled to developed countries to study advanced technologies and management experience.

Believing in his own foresight into the prospect of natural bio-fiber products, Wang founded Bebevisa in 2014, specializing in the production of natural skincare products such as sponge, mask and towel.

However, Wang experienced a difficult period at the beginning of operation, as his products were kept away from international markets. Wang said he knew his company was badly in need of an efficient promotion platform.

Bebevisa got the “admission” of the Canton Fair in 2012. Since then, Wang has never been absent from the fair. Featuring natural and environmentally friendly products, the company was well received by the European and North American markets.

Three years later after its debut at the Canton Fair, Bebevisa inked deals with a group of big-name cosmetic brands, including L’Occitane, Estee Lauder, L’Oreal and Sephora. The company also became a designated supplier for industry giants such as P&G and Unilever.
