Over the past few days, the online China Import and Export Fair has served companies well in developing markets and taking new opportunities, insiders said.

The fair, which started on Oct 15 and will end on Oct 24, welcomed both old and new participants.

As a regular to the event, Weisheng Intelligence, a Ningbo, Zhejiang province-based company that provides smart security protection products, is mainly demonstrating its containerized data center.

The data center boasts good computing capacity and can reduce energy usage, the company’s representatives said.

Weisheng also launched a household security system at the fair.

The representatives said the company attributes its growth to its close ties with the fair, adding that it started to march into European and American markets mainly from the event.

They said the company has become an inclusive supplier of certain products for its European clients. Its American clients, mostly small-sized companies, have become stronger and more influential in their industries after establishing a partnership with Weisheng.

Newcomers to the fair have also benefited from the marketing platform it offers, insiders said.

Dabin Home Textile Technology is a company from Ningxia Hui autonomous region engaged in the design, production and selling of wool products and mattresses.

Ma Xiaobing, chairman of Dabin, said that the company plans to go global but it does not have a special foreign trade team currently.

“After attending the China Import and Export Fair, I have concrete ideas about how to set up such a team,” Ma said.

Though foreign trade professionals are comparatively scarce in Ningxia, the company will develop a professional team and enhance training of English-language professionals, according to Ma.

“With the help of the Canton Fair, I believe we can move forward with a steady pace despite the uncertainties of the world economy,” Ma said.
