Exhibitors at the 128th China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair, are showing their competitiveness and strength in both the overseas and domestic markets.

With rising labor costs and increasingly fierce homogeneous competition, the traditional development model has restricted the sustainable development of traditional foreign trade companies, according to Ye Canxiong, chairman of Guangdong Linkfair Group, a high-tech company integrating research and development, design, manufacturing and sales of stainless steel kitchen utensils and appliances.

“Only transformation can help make a breakthrough,” Ye said.

In 2013, Ye led the company to conduct independent R&D of autonomous production lines, which initiated Linkfair’s transformation from a manufacturer to an innovative-intensive company.

Amid the turbulence caused by the COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning of this year, Linkfair has stepped up its efforts to expand in the domestic market by joining hands with some top-tier e-commerce platforms in China. With its high-quality products well received by domestic customers, Linkfair’s domestic sales in the first nine months this year were up 32 percent from the same period of 2019, according to Ye. Amos Food, based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, is a company focusing on the import and export of food and beverages.

It has also solidified its presence in the domestic market this year, while keeping steadily increased exports.
