Enterprises turn crisis into opportunity as exhibition features host of goods that meet new demands

As one of the most active players in the country’s economy, Chinese foreign trade businesses, especially those in machinery and electrical products, have overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and become stronger.

In the cloud exhibition hall of the 128th China Import and Export Fair, many of the Chinese enterprises are displaying products and solutions that cater to demands in an era of outbreak control and prevention.

One such business is Beijing Guodian PRI Detection Technology, which is exhibiting its latest products such as an endoscope and multipurpose electric torch.

The torch is an eye-catcher at the fair as it possesses a variety of functions from lighting, video recording and body temperature measurement.

The company’s executives said such a product is specifically designed for pandemic control.

Pestech Technology is a Suzhou, Jiangsu province-based electrical tools company that was founded in 1994.

Starting from a small firm of four staff members, the company has developed into globally renowned electrical tool producer. As the owner of its independently developed Worx brand and with the global brands of Rockwell and Kress that it acquired from overseas, Pestech have sold its products to more than 60 countries and regions.

During this session of the fair, the company is exhibiting a variety of products, including its Red Dot Award-winning lawn mower and vacuum cleaners.

Zhou Yuchen, a marketing officer at the company, said the products are tailored for a post-pandemic lifestyle.

“The pandemic has brought a fundamental change to lifestyles, as people are now spending more time living at home to avoid infection. They are devoting more energy to caring for their homes and families,” Zhou said.

The executive said the products feature eye-pleasing design, higher efficiency and longer life cycle, which should appeal to clients worldwide.

Weier Ceramics based in Xiamen, Fujian province, is a frequent exhibitor at the biannual trade show.

Built on its experience in the 127th Canton Fair in June, which featured a large portion of online exhibitions, Weier Ceramics has attached great importance to arranging online shows to attract visitors.

“During the 127th fair, we staged a livestream in our production plant. The effect was unsatisfactory because the products could not be fully demonstrated in an environment lacking ideal illumination,” said Guo Youling, an executive of the company.

“This time we have arranged our products in a specially designed, better-lit showroom for livestreaming. Clients can see every detail of the products when they are brought into the spotlight,” the executive added.
