Deals to foster growth among organizations

During the ongoing China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, the China Foreign Trade Center inked a cooperation agreement with its Egyptian and Iranian counterparts online to establish new partnerships on Tuesday.

The move will help inject new impetus to the fair, and all the parties will conduct practical cooperation to support the Belt and Road Initiative, organizers said.

Xu Bing, deputy secretary of the China Import and Export Fair, spokesman of the fair and deputy director of CFTC, said the Canton Fair is a major platform in China's opening-up and international trade cooperation.

The fair has been dedicated to promoting trade cooperation and international trade between China and countries and regions all over the world over the past 63 years, Xu said.

The 127th Canton Fair is being held online, which helps companies at home and abroad to display their products online and create new business opportunities, Xu said.

He added that the CFTC is carrying out the plan to promote the cooperation of the fair with global partners and establish partnerships with influential international industry and commerce organizations, as part of the effort to serve the participating companies in the fair better.

To date, the CFTC has established partnerships with 130 institutions in 73 countries and regions around the world, including 53 institutions in 34 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The newly established partnerships will be conducive to help provide better service for companies of the countries to participate in the fair, and to promote mutual trade development, Xu said.

Ezz Alaa, first secretary of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said the fair is beneficial to buyers from around the world. This year, the online fair is a milestone, Alaa said.
