CFTC Working Group Promotes Canton Fair in Austria

From Sept 11-14, China Foreign Trade Centre working group promoted Canton Fair in Vienna Austria through organizing promotion conference, meeting with commercial and industrial organizations, visiting international chain supermarkets and exhibition centres and signing Global Cooperative Agreement and Media Resources Exchange Program.


Canton Fair promotion conference

At the promotion conference, based on the features of Canton Fair, Wen Zhongliang, Deputy Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre mainly introduced relevant situations about the 126th session and invited Austrian buyers to find business opportunities at Canton Fair in order to facilitate self-development and make contribution to the bilateral trade development. Gao Xingle, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Austria delivered a speech at the conference. He said that China and Austria have enjoyed a good relationship for a long term and both the two countries possess respective advantages in economy, trade, industry and technology. There are sound foundations and huge potentials for the bilateral cooperation. As the platform for the bilateral trade cooperation, Canton Fair provides opportunities for Austrian business circles to know about China from all dimensions high-efficiently and cost-effectively. Dr. Christoph Matznetter, vice president of Austrian Federal Economic Chamber said that Canton Fair is the window for China’s active promotion of the economic globalization and comprehensive opening-up and development. Only free trade can be beneficial to common progress. Nearly 100 member companies of business associations attended the promotion conference, creating a warm atmosphere. After the conference, the working group signed Media Resources Exchange Program with the organizer, Cultural Center Vienna Branch of European Times.


Wen Zhongliang introduced the 126th Canton Fair

The working group visited Austria-China Business Association, a significant Austrian industrial and commercial organization in advancing Sino-Austria relationship. Dr. Georg Zanger welcomed this visit and hoped to cooperate with Canton Fair on business and trade deeply and multi-dimensionally to facilitate the bilateral trade development together. The two parties signed the Global Cooperative Agreement.

The working group visited the branch company of Metro Group in Austria. Metro Group is one of the world’s top 500 companies with branches covering 32 countries. During the visit, the working group communicated with Christian Weber, Sales Director of the supermarket in terms of products category, inbound channel, mix of buyers, warehousing and logistics as well as business income. Mr. Christian spoke highly of the scale and products category. Moreover, he will discuss with the person in charge of Purchasing Department about sourcing at Canton Fair.


The working group visited the branch company of Metro Group in Austria

Finally, the working group inspected Vienna Exhibition Center, the largest exhibition in Austria. It is funded by the government and operated by Reed Exhibitions. More than 20 exhibitions and 80 forums on average are held each year. The working group exchanged with Cecilia Heischhacker, Sales Manager Austria on marketing, certification, fire safety and security, booth construction and dismantling, restaurant and transportation.
