CFTC Working Group Promotes Canton Fair in Germany

From Sept 17-19, China Foreign Trade Centre working group promoted Canton Fair in Frankfurt Germany through organizing promotion conference, meeting with chambers of commerce and industrial organizations, and visiting venues and exhibitions.

The working group successfully held Canton Fair promotion conference in Frankfurt, which was attended by 60 local professionals from business circle. Zhu Weige, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Frankfurt, Ms. Müller, Head of China Competence Center of IHK Frankfurt & Darmstadt and Dr. Borchmann, Ministerialdirigent a.D. Land Hessen addressed the event.

Ye Jijiang, Deputy Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre, spoke of the broad prospects of China Germany trade cooperation from the perspective of high economic complementarity of the two countries. Based on the 126 Canton Fair’s highlights, he introduced in detail Canton Fair’s features and advantages as the world’s largest international trade promotion platform to “buy from and sell to the globe”. In his speech he called upon German enterprises to attend and participate in the Fair, get onboard the express train of China’s economic development so that German people can benefit from “Made in China” and “Made in Germany” can also better develop the Chinese and global market for greater growth.

Zhu Weige said that as both major traders in the world, China and Germany enjoy rapid development of economic and trade cooperation. Canton Fair is not only an important channel of China’s foreign trade and a crucial window for China’s opening up, but also a world-class product display platform for exhibitors all around the world, including German companies. He encouraged German enterprises to attend and participate in the fair and that the Consulate General will provide all possible support and convenience.

Ms. Müller said that given China’s rapid economic growth and closer trade relations with Germany and the world, German companies should enhance the mutually beneficial cooperation with their Chinese counterparts via Canton Fair.

During their business trip, the working group also visited Messe Frankfurt and discussed with Vice President Johann Thoma on issues of development trend of the exhibition industry, profit model, outsourced services, developing global market, etc. The group inspected the newly built conference center and Hall 12 of the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds, and collected information on smart upgrading of the venue, ICT application, sustainable development and multi-functional facilities of the conference center. While attending the Frankfurt Auto Motor Show (IAA), the group and the organizer exchanged information on exhibition organization mechanism, onsite services, booth construction and design, navigation and improvement.

The working group met with IHK Frankfurt and Guang Hua Media (Germany) GmbH and reached consensus on Canton Fair Internet Promotion Campaign, Media Resource Exchange Program, and on organizing delegations to attend the Fair.

On further promoting Canton Fair and enhancing cooperation with industrial organizations and chambers of commerce, the working group and Zhu Weige exchanged ideas in their meeting.
