125th Canton Fair attracts more than 25,000 exhibitors

The 125th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, China’s largest trade fair, opened today (April 15) in Guangzhou. According to Xu Bing, a spokesperson for the Canton Fair, this session will boast 60,000 booths and will attract 25,000 exhibitors from home and abroad.
第125届中国进出口商品交易会（以下简称“广交会”）今日在广州开幕。在14日举行的开幕新闻发布会上，广交会新闻发言人、中国对外贸易中心副主任徐兵透露，第125届广交会展位总数60651个，境内外参展企业25496家。

The Import exhibition will be held during the first and third phases, with 1,000 booths booked by 650 enterprises from 38 countries and regions. 338 enterprises from 21 countries and regions along the Belt and Road are on display at the import exhibition, accounting for 60% of the total exhibitors.
本届广交会继续在第一、三期设立进口展，展览总面积2万平方米，共设6个产品区，展位总数1000个。共有来自38个国家和地区的650家企业参展，有10个国家和地区展团。“一带一路”沿线国家和地区企业为进口展最大参展主体，共有21个沿线国家和地区的383家企业参展，占比达六成。
“Design for trade” will be a highlight at the fair. Around 100 design companies and institutions from 15 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, the Republic of Korea and Japan have registered to participate in the fair’s design exhibition.
新一轮广交会出口产品设计奖评选活动、广交会产品设计系列活动也将启动，以此引导企业加强设计研发，培育外贸竞争新优势。来自15个国家和地区的约100家优秀设计机构将参与设计展示。
2018: GD’s cross-border e-commerce trade ranked 1st nationwide
In 2018, the scale of Guangdong’s cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 76 billion yuan, an increase of 72%, and ranking first in the country. From 2014 to 2018, in terms of cross-border e-commerce, the average annual import and export volume between Guangzhou and Belt and Road countries also increased by 83.7%.
2018年，全省跨境电商进出口759.76亿元，增长72.0%，位居全国第一。其中，2014年至2018年,广州跨境电商对“一带一路”沿线国家进出口额年均增长83.7%。

According to statistics from customs authorities in Guangzhou, in 2018 the import and export volume between Guangzhou and Belt and Road countries totaled 2.64 billion yuan, an increase of 25.9% over the same period of last year, while there are at least 10,000 cross-border e-commerce companies in Guangzhou, of which 85% are small and medium-sized sellers.
广州海关统计显示，2018年，广州以跨境电商方式对“一带一路”沿线国家外贸进出口总额达26.4亿元人民币，比去年同期增长25.9%。来自“一带一路”沿线国家的丰富商品，如今都可以在广州多个跨境电商平台上下单购买，再由物流公司直接送进消费者家门。
广州的商品也不断销往“一带一路”沿线国家，推动了广州企业走出去。据统计广州的跨境电商企业至少超过了1万家，并呈现出两个特征：85%是跨境电商出口端的企业，85%是中小型卖家。
From 2013 to 2018, the average growth rate for imports and exports in Guangdong reached as high as 7.8%, according to the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs.
据海关总署广东分署统计，2013—2018年，广东与“一带一路”沿线国家进出口保持良好的发展态势，进出口值从2013年的1.11万亿元增长至2018年1.62万亿元，年均增长率高达7.8%。
130 security check rooms to be built outside of GZ metro stations

Lining up for security checks at crowded metro stations can be a time-consuming and frustrating experience. However, according to the Guangzhou Metro, new changes are coming to make security check procedures more efficient.
对于上班族来说，地铁前限流排队安检，人挤人的感觉，就极易让人欲哭无泪。不过，据广州地铁透露，未来广州地铁安检将会有新的变化。
As early as last May, the Guangzhou Metro announced that it planned to build 130 security inspection rooms outside of subway stations involving most lines, especially new lines that are under construction. Six entrances and exits at five stations have become pilot test zones, including Exit A at the Tianhe Coach Station, Exits A and C at Pazhou Station and Exit F at the Hanxi Changlong Station.
早在去年5月，关于安检，广州地铁对外发布公告称，广州计划建设130座地铁站外安检房。绝大多数线路都有站点涉及，尤其是未来新线。其中5个车站的6个出入口成为试点，分别为：天河客运站的A口，大石的D口，琶洲站的A口及C口，新港东的A口和汉溪长隆的F口。

With the new security check rooms in place, residents are required to undergo security checks if they use metro stations to cross the road. The Guangzhou Metro will also aim to minimize the impact the security check rooms have on the urban landscape.
在站外安检房建成以后，凡是有站外安检房的出入口，市民借道地铁站过马路需要安检，与商场接驳、合建的出入口也将设置安检空间。据相关部门介绍，站外安检房，在满足功能的前提下会尽量减小体量，并减少对城市景观的影响。
According to a spokesperson for the Guangzhou Metro, the project is still in the design phase, but once completed the new security check measures will boost the efficiency of security check procedures.
广州地铁相关负责人表示，目前地铁站外安检房项目正进行设计招标，何时实施还没有确定。但设立站外安检，空间更宽敞，有利于客流疏导，安全性更好。
