At the press briefing of the 133rd Canton Fair on April 13, Mr. Xu Bing, Spokesperson of the Canton Fair, Deputy Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre, introduced targeted global marketing.
Xu stated that the 133rd Canton Fair will take multiple measures for global promotion in accordance with the principle of comprehensive marketing and targeted invitation. 
Expand marketing scope
Through 224 economic and commercial offices of Chinese embassies and consulates, 67 foreign consulatesgeneralin Guangzhou, over 2,300 organizations in communicationwith, above 180 global cooperative partners, a series of global promotion activities have been held anda vast number of overseas buyers invited.
Improve targeted invitation
Road shows in 10 routes among key domestic and international regions have been organized. Altogether, targeted invitation has covered buyers from top 40 countries and regions.
Advance marketing professionalism
The 133rd Canton Fair has advertised on overseas professional websites, broadened new media channels, and strengthened cooperation with overseas industry associations to appeal to professional buyers.
Strengthen domestic marketing
Top 100 domestic retailers, well-known cross-border e-commerce, foreign-funded enterprises and agents of overseas enterprises have been invited to the Fair, so as to better promote the domestic and foreign trade integration and facilitate the domestic and international dual circulations
Enhance trade matchmaking
The Canton Fair has held 40 trade matchmaking series activities including “Trade Bridge” Global Trade Promotion activities, "Discover Canton Fair with Bee and Honey" live-streaming, dual circulation promotion, and sourcing events for imported goods. 
Xu noted that up to now, the Canton Fair have received active response from the global business community. Buyers from 226 countries and regions have registered online and offline to attend. Specifically, 47 business organizations from Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania will attend in groups. Among them, India Tibro Tours, and Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce will bring above 200 buyers. At the same time, Fortune 500 and World Retailer 250 companies will send buyers to source. 53 leading multinational enterprises have confirmed their attendance, including Wal-Mart, Macy's, Lifetime Brands, Harbor Freight Tools, and Staples from the US, Auchan and Carrefour from France, German enterprises Metro and Lidl, NITORI from Japan, LULU from theUnited Arab Emirates and Woolworths from Australia.In particular, 5 delegations including those of LULU, Auchan and Coppel from Mexico will bring over 100 buyers; delegations of Wal-Mart and NITORI more than 200.
