Event keeps up with new trends, officials say

The 129th China Import and Export Fair opens online on Thursday and officials said it keeps up with the new socioeconomic development trends. 

To cement poverty alleviation efforts and promote its connection with rural revitalization, the fair set up a special section for the revitalization projects and wants to help companies from rural regions expand international markets. 

It also used diverse channels to organize domestic purchasers to attend the event. Among them are large shopping malls and supermarkets, chain stores and retail outlets, as well as e-commerce platforms. 

The number of new products exhibited at the fair reached a record 2.7 million, about 820,000 of which are new. The exhibitors use photos, videos, 3D and virtual reality technologies to display products, which improve the experience for purchasers.
