Insiders complement improvements, firms rave about success

The 128th China Import and Export Fair, which ended on Saturday, saw about 26,000 companies display nearly 2.4 million exhibits online. Domestic and foreign enterprises .

A Zhejiang-based motorbike manufacturer attended both the 127th and 128th online fairs. Ying Er, chairman of the company, said: “We had better fruits at this fair than the last session.”

After attending the 127th fair, the company kept following up potential clients and received many orders. The number of orders it received in the first 10 months of 2020 is equal to the total in 2019 and its exports in the period increased 60 percent year-on-year.

To achieve more at the 128th fair, the company launched two kinds of all-terrain vehicles designed with Italian partners. The products meet European design and technical standards and have the cost advantage of being made in China, Ying said.

Foreign trade companies were more warmly received at the 128th fair, Ying said.

“We specialize in outdoor leisure products and found overseas markets have begun recovering since May and June,” Ying said, adding the good industrial trend and the fair’s helpful services resulted in an excellent exhibition.

Ying’s company has employed professional consultancies to help improve its capacities and ensure deliveries without delay.

Many other foreign trade enterprises at the fair also benefitted from innovating displays and launching creative products, organizers said.

A craft product maker from Huizhou, Guangdong province, said the company used online resources after having attended the 127th fair.

The company invested more in online marketing and improved its human resources in video-making, photo-taking and web design. It also offered several daily live broadcasts and promoted its digital capability. The end result was a great number of new clients attracted to its website to negotiate new deals.

The company is more confident about its export growth, its representatives said.

The good effects that companies achieved at the fair were also due to improvements in the fair itself, exhibitors said.

He Yun, an executive from a clothing company in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, said its live broadcasts went more smoothly at the 128th fair. The company exhibited products such as overcoats and knitted shirts, which can be customized.

Insiders said the Canton Fair, as an international trade and economic cooperation platform, contributed to the stable supply of global commodities during the pandemic.

The fair also plays a key role in aiding China’s new economic development pattern of “dual circulation”, which was first put forward in May and relies on domestic circulation to drive its international circulation, they said.
