Multi-channel approach used to make the most of event

The 2020 Canton Fair Fashion Week and Fashion in Vogue Live Show held on Oct 19 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, have used innovative online and offline approaches this year to better help companies connect with the market, local officials said.

Co-sponsored by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the Guangzhou bureau of commerce, the Canton Fair Product Design and Trade Promotion Centre and the Guangzhou Hengtong Exhibition Business Co, the show allowed both suppliers and purchasers to explore more business opportunities.

Wen Zhongliang, deputy secretary general of the Canton Fair and deputy director of the China Foreign Trade Centre, said the Canton Fair will upgrade its cloud platforms, integrate online displays, promotions, supply and procurement dockings, and enhance negotiation to make them more intelligent, comprehensive, and convenient.

“It plays the role as a bond of friendship and a bridge for trade,” he said.

Wu Weihua, deputy director of the Guangzhou bureau of commerce, said the bureau has innovated and diversified publicity to accelerate a new development pattern with domestic and international dual circulation as the main body.

He said the fashion show carried out multi-channel and all-round coverage through both online and offline activities and will help companies expand in the domestic and international markets.

The event was hosted by Mattia Romeo, an Italian expatriate, with speakers including Li Zhiyong, the founder of Tianwen brand, Wang Gang, an expert in procurement and supply chain management, and Li Licheng, the founder of Tao Design and one of China’s Top 10 Industrial Designers.

Also present at the event were Lucia Pasqualini, consul general of Italy in Guangzhou, Rodolfo Montecinos, consul general of Chile in Guangzhou, Ji Wenbo, vice-chairman of the China Fashion Association and chairman of the Guangdong Fashion Designers Association. There were more than 200 people including association representatives, fashion companies, domestic buyers and media representatives.
