Firms at cloud event do roaring trade as established and new customers log on

The 128th China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair, running from Oct 15-24 online, is witnessing foreign trade companies receive an increasing amount of orders.

Zhejiang Native Produce & Animal By-Products Import and Export Group, based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has received food product orders worth $1.86 million.

From this, orders worth $600,000 are from Europe and Japan, and $1.26 million of orders are from Africa.

“The customers comprise regular ones, which have established long-term partnerships with us for more than 20 years, and some new ones that we met at the last Canton Fair (held from June 15-24),” said Ren Guokui, executive president of the company.

Before the fair, the company promoted its products to customers through emails, telephone calls and WeChat messages, Ren said.

“Our customers are very positive about the ‘cloud exhibition’ of this session of the Canton Fair, saying it complies with the development trend.”

Marshallom based in Huizhou city of Guangdong province is a company producing and selling metal cans. It has also made a series of preparations for the Canton Fair.

The company has invested a large amount of resources to produce digital photographs, engineering design drawings, three-dimensional animation drawings and high-definition videos of its products and production lines.

These efforts allow its customers to learn more about its products and production technologies, according to Wu Yanlun, vice-president of Marshallom.

Paying close attention to the research and development of environmentally friendly and intelligent products, Sentian Sanitary Ware based in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has attracted a raft of international buyers at the 128th Canton Fair.

At the beginning of this year, the company started production of a new type of aluminum shower screen. It adopts a paint-free process to reduce pollution in production, and increases intelligent disinfection and sterilization functions.

In the first half of 2020, the new product saw an increase of 15 percent in exports, which became a new growth point of the company’s sales. It has been favored by international buyers, according to the company.

Thanks to the experience of the 127th online Canton Fair, exhibitors are easily utilizing new technologies and measures to reach more customers and markets.

Hualian Special Ceramics, based in Hunan province, has been engaged in overseas markets for years.

It has brought its factories, workshops, exhibition booths and featured products to the online Canton Fair through virtual-reality technology.

With a click of the mouse, buyers can quickly enter the online exhibition to learn about the company, its products and manufacturing process. This has lured a raft of customers from home and abroad, according to the company.
