Under the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic, the 128th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, which is held online from Oct 15 to 24, not only builds a platform for the safe and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains, but also accelerates the dual circulation of domestic and international trade.

Since the Canton Fair was founded in 1957, it has been its mission to intensify economic and trade cooperation between China and the world.

For 63 years, the Canton Fair has worked hard and laid a solid foundation for the formation of a new dual circulation development pattern.

Persevering in innovation and development, the Canton Fair is growing into a key platform for boosting dual circulation.

In 2007, the 101st Canton Fair was renamed from the China Export Commodities Fair to the China Import and Export Fair, and the import pavilion was established for the first time; in 2009, the 105th Canton Fair was opened to domestic buyers for the first time; this year, an “air bridge” for the transfer of export products to domestic sales was built at the 127th Canton Fair. In addition to inviting domestic buyers, the 128th Canton Fair also held dual circulation promotion activities offline.

Adhering to the concept of cooperation, the Canton Fair gathers global trade resources and lays a solid foundation for dual circulation.

Over the past 63 years, the Canton Fair has grown into one of China’s first-class events with diverse products, the largest number of buyers and the widest distribution in countries and regions.

At the 126th Canton Fair, the accumulated export transactions amounted to some $1.4 trillion, with 8.99 million overseas buyers. At present, each session of the Canton Fair has about 16 categories of commodities, 50 exhibition areas, nearly 26,000 domestic and foreign exhibitors.
