The 127th Canton Fair's Promotion for Russia Successfully Held

On June 11, the 127th Canton Fair Promotion on Cloud for Russia was launched online.

Present at the video conference were Mr. Li Jingyuan, Minister Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, Mr. Zhou Shanqing, Deputy Secretary General of the Canton Fair and Vice President of China Foreign Trade Centre (Group), Mr. Dmitriev, Vice President of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Polyakov，Deputy Chairman of Russia-China Business Council, who all delivered a speech.

Mr. Li Jingyuan pointed out that China and Russia are good neighbors, close friends, and trusted partners. China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination remains strong and stable, and cooperation in all fields is developing steadily.

In 2019, bilateral trade volume reached a record high of 110 billion U.S. dollars. Also, China has been Russia's largest trade partner for 10 consecutive years.

The 127th Canton Fair online, which is an innovative measure against the coronavirus pandemic, will be one of the most important fairs in the first half of this year.

In order to help the Canton Fair attract business, the Chinese Embassy in Russia promotes the Canton Fair and send invitations to the Russian government, business organizations, and trade associations through holding video conferences and increasing media coverage.

We hope that the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Canton Fair will take advantage of this online conference to strengthen cooperation in attracting buyers and exhibitors, promoting the Fair, and sharing information, in the hope of promoting China-Russia trade and economic relations.

According to Mr. Zhou Shanqing, as each other's largest bordering country, China and Russia have frequent economic interactions and a strong economic complementarity. For a long period, Russian buyers have been active in attending the Canton Fair, which plays an important role in China-Russia bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

This session introduces advanced information technology to build a new trade platform for global buyers. It will provide new momentum for promoting China-Russia economic and trade cooperation.

The Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which enjoys a long history, has numerous member enterprises and a great influence. I hope that we can take advantage of the digital Canton Fair to encourage Russian entrepreneurs to register and attend the Fair, in hope of promoting bilateral trade relations.

Mr. Dmitriev stated that the Canton Fair is world-famous and fully deserves its status as the largest and oldest comprehensive international trade fair in China, which has a complete category of products, numerous buyers, and the best trade efficiency.

This session online will revitalize global economic interaction and contribute to Russia-China trade cooperation. For Russian enterprises, taking part in the Canton Fair is an excellent opportunity to get to know the newest products of China and other countries.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is now sparing no effort in promoting the Fair across Russia. He hoped that more Russian entrepreneurs will attend the 127th Canton Fair.

Mr. Polyakov pointed out that since its incubation in 1957, the Canton Fair has been operating uninterruptedly for 63 year. It enjoys a high reputation in Russia and each session attracted many Russian buyers.

This session, launched online, has attracted the attention of the Russian industrial and commercial sectors.

They all hope that they can find desirable products and get acquainted with new partners on this unique platform.

During the video conference, the staff members of China Foreign Trade Centre introduced the function and advantages of the online platform. They demonstrated the business flow of sourcing, and answered questions concerning registering, logging in, VIP buyer service, trade matchmaking, posting sourcing requests, etc.

Russia is a main participant of China's Belt and Road Initiative. In 2019, China-Russia bilateral relation was upgraded to China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. Russia is an important source of buyers of the Canton Fair, with around 7000 Russian buyers each session.

This online promotion was attended by high-level officials and proceeds on a large scale. It was broadcasted live on the official website of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and YouTube. This conference, which is accessible to all Russians, enables buyers to get used to the changes of the online fair. So, they can familiarize themselves with the functions of the platform and the workflow of businesses and thus enhance their sourcing efficiency and refresh their attending experiences.
