The 127th Canton Fair Promotion Events Targeted African Markets

The 127th Canton Fair held its Global Promotion on Cloud events for Egypt and South Africa on June 3rd. 
Mr. Zhang Chunlei, Secretary of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of China in Egypt, Mr. Alaa Ezz, First Under Secretary of State of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Elizaberth Dudu, representative of a logistics company in South Africa, and Mr. Neo Goodman, representative of loyal buyers from South Africa, addressed the event online. 
The two promotion events were attended online by over 100 African buyers and entrepreneurs from main cities like Cairo and Johannesburg.
Mr. Ezz said that Canton Fair is well-known in Egypt and has a strong appeal to buyers from all over the world, including Egypt. The 127th Canton Fair held online is a rare trading platform for global buyers and Chinese companies during the pandemic. The Promotion on Cloud event is of practical significance as it has provided a lot of information about attending the Fair online. He expected the upcoming Canton Fair online would create more business opportunities for African businessmen.
Ms. Dudu stated that she could always find the products she wanted at Canton Fair thanks to its large scale and complete varieties of products. To hold this session of the Canton Fair online can help stabilize sourcing channels of global buyers.
Mr. Goodman said that South African companies could take advantage of China's strong production capacity and rich products, give full play to their own strengths, seize the opportunities provided by Canton Fair and other platforms and explore the Chinese and global markets. He shared his experience in attending the Canton Fair for many years, saying that Canton Fair has high quality exhibits and complete supporting services. He believed that with many years of experience in offline exhibitions, the upcoming session of Canton Fair can bring special significance to global buyers.
Mr. Liu Quandong, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Canton Fair and General Manager of International Communication Department of China Foreign Trade Centre, expounded the importance of the 127th Canton Fair held online, and shared its latest characteristics.
He sincerely invited African entrepreneurs to attend the Fair to conduct negotiations, find new products, know new partners, discover new business opportunities, and contribute to the stability of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. 
Representatives of CFTC also introduced the overall functions of the official website of the Canton Fair, demonstrated the whole attending process as a buyer, and answered the widely concerned questions such as translation, matchmaking, etc. The event was rich in content and received enthusiastic response.
In 2019, China-Africa trade volume reached 208.7 billion US dollars, showing a year-on-year increase of 2.2%. Africa is a key buyer source region for Canton Fair; each session it is attended by more than 15,000 African buyers, many of whom are from Egypt and South Africa. 
These two events reached the north and south sides of the continent. On June 9th the Promotion on Cloud event will connect with Kenya.
