At the opening press conference of the 125th Canton Fair held on April 14, Xu Bing, spokesperson of the Canton Fair and Deputy Director General of the China Foreign Trade Centre, introduced the relevant information of the Canton Fair's International Pavilion.

Xu said that since the Canton Fair established the International Pavilion for overseas enterprises in the 101st session, it has attracted 13,000 overseas enterprises from over 100 countries and regions, which creates enormous opportunities to exploit Chinese huge consumer market and global market.

Xu Bing said that the exhibition structure are further optimized and specialization improved in the 125th Canton Fair, which is characterized  by  the following features.

Specialization further improved. The International Pavilion covers six categories including electronics and household electrical appliance, building materials and hardware, food and beverage, fabrics and home textiles and household items. Additionally, the International Pavilion introduces many world-class industrial clusters such as household appliance industrial clusters from Korea, kitchen appliance industrial clusters from Turkey and Egypt, hardware tools industrial clusters from India and Taiwan, etc. We continue to set up baby products zone, international daily chemicals health area in the Phase 3, which attract enterprises from Italy, Germany, Poland, Korea and other countries to exhibit their high-end organic daily products and high-quality baby products.

Participating countries and companies continue to increase with better quality. There are 650 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions participating in the 125th Canton Fair, with an increase of 4 countries and 11 exhibitors comparing with the previous session. There are 10 national and regional delegations, and the top five are Korea, Turkey, India, Taiwan, and Malaysia. New high-quality overseas enterprises and brands are also exhibited. Well-known brands from the U.S, Britain, Germany and Japan, leading enterprises of machinery and equipment, building materials and hardware, electronics and household electrical appliance, world-class industrial clusters like Italian kitchen and bathroom products and Korean intelligent household appliances are gathered here.

“Belt and Road” enterprises are the main participants of the International Pavilion. There are 383 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions in the “Belt and Road” initiative, booking 630 booths in this year’s International Pavilion, accounting for 60% and 63% respectively. Enterprises from Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Kuwait and the Philippines participate in the International Pavilion as new exhibitors.

More professional domestic buyers. Domestic professional buyers such as Vipshop, Netease Premier, Carrefour, Wal-Mart, Hualian, Lotus participate the Canton Fair actively. Trade organization such as Food Chamber of Commerce Guangzhou, Huizhou Cross-border Electronic Commerce Association, Zhuhai Federation of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs organize delegations the Canton Fair for sourcing.

Hold International Pavilion networking event. Taking the opportunity of Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Canton Fair organizes departments of commerce in the Greater Bay Area, consulates general in Guangzhou, chambers of commerce from home and abroad, overseas trade promotion organizations, and overseas exhibition organization agencies to discuss business opportunities, which promotes the integration of domestic and foreign business resources in the Greater Bay Area.

Xu Bing said that China possesses the most potential consumer market with an increasing population of about 1.4 billion people, among which the number of middle-income group is over 400 million. Chinese government is making further efforts to expand opening and increase import. Based on China’s enormous market demand, Canton Fair builds a fast track for facilitating the access of overseas enterprises and products to Chinese market. In new era, Canton Fair will improve the level of specialization, market orientation, digitalization and international development, make full use of  online and offline platform, attract more world leading enterprises, well-known brands and high-quality buyers.  The International Pavilion will be further promoted to become a public platform for foreign countries to enlarge export to China and exploit the global market, and to make greater contributions to promoting global trade growth and open world economy.
