At the closing press conference of the 125th Canton Fair, Xu Bing, Deputy Secretary General of the Canton Fair, Spokesperson and Deputy Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre, introduced the operation of the International Pavilion.
Xu Bing said that in order to expand import and further open the Chinese market to the world, Canton Fair established International Pavilion in the 101st session. Since then, more than 13,000 enterprises /times from more than 108 countries and regions have participated in the fair; 637 companies have been here for more than 5 times. The International Pavilion has provided enormous convenience for overseas companies to explore China’s huge consumer market and sell to the world, and contributed to the two-way opening of import and export.
Xu mentioned that China’s “import effect” is expanding and benefiting global enterprises. In this Canton Fair, structure of exhibitors at International Pavilion has been further optimized and specialization improved, to create a public international platform where countries can increase export to China and develop global market and overseas companies can share the opportunities of development with China and rest of the world.
Show the image of country and region. In this session we have 8 national delegations and 2 regional delegations. These delegations organize their exhibitors and display a unified logo, and take custom-built stands together to show to visitors from around the world the image of their country and region, advantageous industry, economic and trade culture and feature products to improve global reputation and influence. During this Canton Fair, domestic and overseas audience to the International Pavilion totals over 100,000 person times. USA’s large machinery industrial leader, UK’s second largest decorative lighting company, Japan’s precision measurement instrument industry leader, Germany’s second largest daily chemical product chain brand, Italy’s household and bathroom equipment, South Korea’s smart life small household appliance and Turkey’s high-end kitchen appliance all state that they’ve met vast amount of potential valuable customers and displayed corporate and brand image.
Helps overseas enterprises “sell to China”. China has world’s most potential consumer market. China’s “magnetic attraction” has drawn more and more attention from the world. The International Pavilion of Canon Fair provides a fast track for overseas companies to enter the Chinese market, who have found a market for their high quality, high-end and innovative products through participation in the fair. South Korea’s NUC has achieved partnership with Suning; with the latter becoming its general agent in China, the two parties plan to bring products to the Suning stores and increase marketing in the Chinese market. Turkey’s Simford is shifting from “sourcing parts in China” to “selling products to China” and planning to work with China’s famous e-commerce platform.
Helps overseas enterprises “sell to the world”. The International Pavilion has not only helped overseas companies explore the Chinese market with huge potential, but also assisted them understand industrial development trend and information and develop the global market. UK’s Stanley, who has participated for 5 times, said that they’ve not only developed the Chinese market but also found global customers such as French and New Zealand customers. Malaysia delegation stated that they consider Canton Fair a high-end platform to display new products and develop the international market. Indonesian household appliance enterprise mentioned they’ve achieved orders with Egyptian and UAE customers and tapped brand new resource such as Amazon and India’s largest e-commerce platform.
National delegations gain fruitful results. 10 national and regional delegations this session all gain fruitful results. South Korea delegation has received inquiry on 3357 cases and the amount of deals to be advanced stands at around 300 billion USD. South Korean exhibitor said that Canton Fair provides a quality business platform for cooperation, through which they can not only develop new markets but also discuss with their old customers on new product function and orders. Indian delegation received 50 quality buyers per day during Phase 1, facing potential opportunities of cooperation. Istanbul Chamber of Commerce of Turkish delegation mentioned that Canton Fair has assisted many Turkish companies develop global market and that they could have more booths for home textile section in order for more Turkish companies to go global.
Xu stated that in the future Canton Fair will further improve the quality of International Pavilion and select quality companies and brands as exhibitors. We will focus on introducing more enterprises to fill China’s “shopping cart” with world’s quality products. We will also step up invitation to quality Chinese and global buyers, optimize exhibitor-buyer matchmaking mechanism, build a platform for all round opening up that can “sell to and buy from the world” to boost import and global trade growth and implement China’s solemn promise of expanding import with practical actions.
